Wilson's fame spread to America in 2014 when she starred as a character on Showtimes The Affair. She performed the role of Alison Lockhart, a young woman with a troubled background and falls in love with Noah Solloway. Wilson was awarded the Golden Globe award for Best Actress In A Television Series Drama, alongside Mauratierney as well as Joshua Jackson. Then, in 2017, she played the cryptic PT Stella, in the sci fi rom com How to Talk to Girls at Parties. To add to her horror credits Wilson is also set to appear in the British movie version of The Little Stranger. The supernatural thriller is based on a Sarah Waters' novel. Wilson directs the production.
